Join Jason Grupp on his bassboat for a guided outing on Alisal lake. Depending on the season, average catch 15-80 largemouth bass per trip. The fishing on a private lake is the best! Low pressure and a very healthy fishery creates conditions that are ideal. We call it "fantasy fishing" because a fishermen can't find these conditions on public water.

Private Water!
Fishing on Alisal Lake is reserved for guests of the Alisal Guest Ranch exclusively. This provides a lake with very few people and an abundance of bass. It is not rare to have the lake completely to ourselves. The lake is surrounded only by 200 year old oak trees and rolling hills of the Santa Ynez Valley. The Los Padres National Forest provides the backdrop of the lake with beautiful mountains looking down on us. All bass are natural spawn wild fish and fishing is "catch and release." This combination keeps the lake and the fish unstressed and provides some of the best bass fishing in the state.
What you will learn
I will teach you a number of different techniques to catch fish ranging from traditional spinning rods and reels to fly-fishing for bass. We get a phenomenal top-water bite after the spawn in spring which lasts all the way through summer. This provides fantastic fly-fishing conditions.
All ages are welcome
Many families bring their children to Alisal to experience some first time achievements. I have helped many parents to reward their child with their first fish of their life. This is a great spot to come do this because we always catch fish.
