About Us

My Passion

My passion for the sport has given me the confidence and desire to start this business. Every year that passes, the expectations of my clientèle reaches higher levels requiring the development of new and exciting ways to entertain. I have specialized in teaching fishing to my clients at many different skill levels. I give fly-fishing lessons year round to help novice and expert anglers learn the sport. I work with countless guests to develop their skill level year after year to give them the confidence to take world-class fishing trips.

My History

As an employee of the Alisal Guest Ranch, I am privileged to provide professional fly-fishing and traditional fishing outings to the ranch guests since April 2001. I have spent seven years on one of the most beautiful bass fishing lakes you will ever have the opportunity to visit. I am an Orvis endorsed guide, part of an elite team of guides brought together to be the best outdoors men and woman in the country or even the world. I take a handful of clients to the Eastern Sierra wilderness each year fly-fishing for trout. I round out the year wandering the beaches of central California in search of fish with an occasional trip to the Channel Islands off the coast of Santa Barbara. Not a bad way to make a living!

I began developing my fishing skills when I was a child. With the support of my family and a bass boat in the pool delivered by Santa for Christmas one year. I was guiding by high school on a private lake in Orange County. I just enjoyed taking people fishing and did not realize that it was the start of my career. I fished and guided all over the state through college. I became an Orvis endorsed guide four years ago. I placed 2nd in the "Orvis Endorsed Guide Olympics Casting Competition" in Wyoming. I have done some tournament fishing, but my true passion is to guide.

I now live in Solvang with my beautiful wife who is a second grade school teacher and my son Jackson who was born November 15, 2007.
